The grape variety is a small diva, as it places high demands on soil and location, but like every diva, Sauvignon Blanc is rare. Although it was once native to Germany over a hundred years ago, it took quite a long time after its prohibition in the 1930s before it was allowed to celebrate a glorious comeback. It is still quite rare to find in the Nahe region.
