The Cantina Tramin Rungg is full-bodied and dense, revealing flavors of wild cherry, blackcurrant, and dried fruit on the palate, with notes of dark chocolate meeting cedarwood and leathery tobacco pouch. With its soft tannin structure and noticeable wood, it culminates in a long-lasting finish. This spicy-fruity red wine cuvée accompanies hearty Tyrolean dishes, especially game and roasts, dark grilled meat with roasted aromas, and also pairs well with aged mountain cheeses.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eCantina Tramin – Winemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2022 wine year began with above-average temperatures in spring, which favored early budding. The consistently warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted vineyard work and occasional rain, the vines were kept in a stress-free condition despite summer phases of extreme heat. The grape harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather played along perfectly, grapes of outstanding quality could be harvested throughout the entire harvest period. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive, benefiting from a high degree of ripeness and developing complex fruit and a full flavor with powerful aromas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vines for this Cantina Tramin cuvée grow on calcareous and gravelly clay soils in the best locations at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The grapes were harvested at the time of their respective optimal physiological ripeness and brought to the winery in small containers, where they were destemmed before the mash fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26°C) with pump-overs in large and small wooden barrels.
