However, since the seeds contain neither sugar nor starch, alcohol cannot be produced from them through natural fermentation. For this specialty, the nuts, in roasted, peeled and crushed form, are steeped in neutral alcohol (macerated), whereby the full aroma of the fruit transfers into the alcohol.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis macerate is then distilled using the traditional and extremely elaborate rough and fine distillation process.
