On the nose, the Grüner Veltliner Kremstal Reserve has aromas of greenish-yellow Golden Delicious apple, a subtle herbaceous spice, some pomegranate and a hint of pepper. Juicy, elegant with a finessed acid structure, Falstaff awarded 92 points for this age-worthy wine. A single-vineyard wine that brilliantly represents its terroir, the Erste Lage Ried Gebling in Kremstal.

Gebling is the most prestigious vineyard site in Rohrendorf near Krems and also a passion of Artur Toifl, who has been responsible for the wines at Thiery-Weber for several years and took over the winery in 2020. The soil, with its calcareous conglomerate rock and thin loess layer, gives the wines from the Gebling site, which extends from Krems to Gedersdorf, a fine minerality, filigree fruit, and complexity.

An aged single-vineyard wine, like this Thiery Weber Grüner Veltliner Kremstal Reserve Ried Gebling, offers an intense and complex taste experience!

Thiery Weber – Winery in Kremstal

The home of the Thiery-Weber family winery is the picturesque village of Rohrendorf in the Austrian wine region of Kremstal. It is currently managed by Artur Toifl and his wife Michaela, the third generation. "We are connected to tradition. Because a nature-oriented viticulture, as it was practiced by our ancestors, ultimately brings quality," says Artur about his wine philosophy. He learned natural viticulture from scratch during his apprenticeship at the Loimer winery in Langenlois. Particularly good soil management is important in Kremstal with its abundant sunshine and high temperatures, and the constant wind also causes soil erosion, which the winemaker must counteract. Three particularly good sites, Gebling, Kremser Sandgrube, and Kremser Weinzierlberg, are planted with Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, but Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, and Zweigelt are also cultivated here.

Gebling – a Grüner Veltliner and its values

13% vol.
