Discover the Rosé Saigner from Markus Schneider Winery!

The Markus Schneider Rosé Saigner 2024 is a rosé cuvée from our best red wine parcels, where the soil type varies from terrace gravel, pebbles, to limestone. This year, the Markus Schneider Rosé Saigner is again a wonderfully fruity and fresh rosé wine, captivating not only with its scent of midnight blue blackberries and sweet-sour raspberries, but also with its juiciness on the palate, fine minerality, and vibrant acidity. The Rosé Saigner is not just a summer wine; it also pairs well with Mediterranean appetizers, seafood, pasta dishes, and grilled pork.

The Rosé Saigner 2024 by Markus Schneider is lighter than in previous years, which shows how much Markus Schneider has found his very own style in recent years; everything seems more precise, cooler, and more elegant.

Markus Schneider says about his Rosé Saigner 2024: "Delicate pink-grapefruit rosé. On the palate, a fruit potpourri of raspberry, sour cherry, red currant, and a hint of mint gathers. Fruit, fruit, fruit, crisp with a dry finish, freshness, and charm."

Markus Schneider – Wine Preparation

The 2024 vintage started in the warmest parts of the estate as early as May, after an April free of late frosts. After the rapid establishment of the foliage walls, "the great summer of 2024" arrived with peak temperatures sometimes around 40° Celsius and almost no precipitation. An early bloom brings an early harvest, and so Markus Schneider documented the earliest harvest start since the estate's founding on August 26, 2024, in excellent weather. The first days of September finally brought some cooling. The 2024 harvest lasted a total of 47 days in fairly calm autumn weather and yielded ripe, healthy grapes.

The grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, and Blaufränkisch, for the Markus Schneider Rosé Saigner, grow in various vineyards. The vineyards ripen at sometimes long intervals and are harvested independently and very differently. The ripe, healthy grapes are gently processed in the modern press house. After storage in the red wine fermenter with subsequent juice drainage (Saigner method) of 20%, a completely natural concentration of the remaining must is produced, and without any pressing, a rosé in the "international style" is obtained and then aged temperature-controlled in stainless steel tanks without external intervention.
