Stokes – Real Good Sauces
Stokes Sauces was founded in 2004 by Rick Sheepshank in Suffolk, England, with the aim of producing truly good mayonnaise from fresh free-range eggs: the Real Mayonnaise. The success of this fantastic mayonnaise, made with a classic recipe of whole eggs, rapeseed oil, and a dash of extra virgin olive oil from Greece, was immediate. The next goal was to create a ketchup so delicious that Rick could use it to get his daughter to eat vegetables. Thus, a personal challenge led him to found his own company, which 10 years later exports Real Mayonnaise and Real Ketchup, as well as many other good sauces, chutneys, relishes, jams, and dressings, to many countries around the world, and helps children everywhere eat vegetables with the help of Stokes Ketchup.
Stokes – Great taste needs great ingredients
From the outset, Stokes Sauces worked with immense passion to refine the taste, texture, and quality of ketchups, mayonnaise, chutneys, relishes, jams, and dressings. Rick always knew that this was only possible with great ingredients.
For example, the ketchup is slowly simmered from sun-ripened Italian tomatoes, free-range British eggs are used for the mayonnaise, oil from Koroneiki olives from the island of Crete, and unrefined raw cane sugar is used instead of industrial sugar. The Stokes team of over 70 diligent employees also knows the importance of good ingredients and the best processing in small quantities. Since 2016, Stokes Sauces, alongside Apple and Spotify, has been a "Coolbrand," one of the coolest brands in Great Britain, and everyone is proud of that.
Rick's passion for quality and his compassion extend beyond his love for food; in the menagerie of Rendlesham, he offers refuge and a new home to over 250 rescued and now happy pigs, sheep, cattle, wallabies, emus and rheas, goats, ducks, cats, dogs, and happy chickens. We are a family business with a caring heart, says Rick about his company Stokes Sauces.
