D.Barbero – Cioccolateria & Torroneria from Asti
D.Barbero is the famous Cioccolateria & Torroneria from Asti in the heart of Piedmont. In 1883, Melchiorre Barbero acquired the license to produce Italian nougat there, for the careful production of which he was already awarded at exhibitions in Naples, Turin, and Livorno two years later, even receiving a gold medal in Castelfranco. The manufactory and its range grew, was passed on to the next generation, and relocated production in 1953 to Vio Brofferio 84, where it is still located today.
D.Barbero – Artisanally Produced Gianduiotti and Torrone
The current owner, Davide Barbero, has a good sense for preserving the house's tradition while still meeting the modern demands of his customers. Thus, the classic Torrone, white nougat with plenty of good wild flower honey and Piedmontese I.G.P. hazelnuts, almonds from Apulia, or pistachios from Bronte, is offered in appealing packaging, in metal tins as a gift, or packaged like a chocolate bar. The delicious Gianduiotti, nougat with a high proportion of the best roasted Piedmont hazelnuts, are still wrapped in copper-colored paper, just like in the old days. The Pistacchiotti with pistachios are just as popular with customers as the Torronjotti with small pieces of Torrone.
D.Barbero looks back on a glorious and long-lasting history that is firmly linked to the city of Asti and Piedmontese sweets, and which has positively shaped them for seven generations. Chocolates and Torrone produced in the D. Barbero manufactory according to old craftsmanship reward you with more intense aromas and a more aromatic taste.
