Ultner Brot: Organic Bakery from South Tyrol
The traditional bakery Ultner Brot from South Tyrol has been baking since 1919, and as an organic bakery since 1982. The bread assortment is high-quality and extensive; we offer traditional South Tyrolean bread specialties: Original Vinschger Minis, Schüttelbrot, Original Ultner Brot, which is very similar to Vinschger Paarl, Struzenchips and spelt grissini with Schüttelbrot, as well as the trendy, hearty Kraftbrot, which is baked without flour.

Master baker Hannes Schwienbacher now manages the Ultner Brot company, which his grandmother Maria Pircher-Schwienbacher founded as a bakery at Eggwirt in 1919, together with his father Richard. The tradition of artisanal Tyrolean baking was instilled in him from an early age and is also lived out in his role as a board member of the South Tyrolean Bakers' Guild. Hannes uses the knowledge of his ancestors and combines it with the latest findings to bake in a natural way.
For generations, the Ultner bread manufactory in the Ulten Valley has cultivated its own natural sourdough, milled whole grain flour in its in-house mill since 1982, and from the very beginning used natural rock crystal salt and the purest spring water, which originates at an altitude of 1,600 meters near St. Walburg in unspoiled mountain landscape, for the Ultner breads. With deep conviction, the Schwienbacher family and their 40 employees work daily with the best organic raw materials and great passion for craftsmanship to remain South Tyrol's number 1 organic baker.
