Faude feine Brände – Distillery at the Kaiserstuhl
Faude feine Brände, a home distillery at the Kaiserstuhl, has stood for the finest fruit brandies from Baden-Württemberg since 2006. Florian Faude's parents bought an old farm in Bötzingen in the 80s as a family residence. The house came with an old distilling right, which was used for a long time only for personal consumption. But this changed when the trained winemaker Florian discovered his love for distilling.
Florian Faude – fine brandies from fruit and vegetables
Making fruit brandies from the Kaiserstuhl hip again was the goal (and still is) of the young quality fanatic. So Florian Faude, in search of the perfect aroma, initially distilled local fruits, classics such as cherry, Williams Christ pear, mirabelle, and apple. In 2015, during a holiday in Italy, he met Giancarlo from Sicily, who grows citrus fruits below Mount Etna. Inspired by the idea of producing distillates from blood oranges, mandarins, lemons, and bergamots, Florian tinkered with a certain obsession until he created a magnificent citrus spirit series, which is now one of his top sellers. The Black Forester also showed a good nose for his exotic creations, such as cucumber or beetroot spirit, as well as a spirit from spruce shoots. In all his creations, his experience as a distiller and his intuition serve him well.
