Chocolaterie Bruntz – Cocoa Confections from Kingersheim
Chocolaterie Bruntz has been operating in southern Alsace, a few kilometers north of Mulhouse, since 1960. Three brothers founded the business, which has been located on Rue de l'Industrie since 1978. Today, Quentin Ricou and Laurent Kalis run the company with a good ten employees. They produce Truffes Fantaisie: soft cocoa truffles without cocoa butter, rolled in dark cocoa powder. In Germany, they are called "Kakaokonfekt" (cocoa confections) because they lack cocoa butter.
Truffes Fantaisie in Kougelhopf Shape
Bruntz became known in the 1980s with its own idea: truffles in the ribbed silhouette of the Alsatian Kougelhopf. This shape remains the house's signature to this day. In addition, dragées and hand-poured chocolate figures are produced. As a partner of Marque Alsace, the company is officially allowed to state its origin on the packaging.
