Weingut Steitz – Wine from Stein-Bockenheim
The Steitz Winery is located in the small village of Stein-Bockenheim in Rheinhessen. Christian and Diana Steitz cultivate classic grape varieties such as Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Christian's favorite wine, Silvaner, on 15 hectares. White grape varieties account for approximately three-quarters of the vineyard area. The soils of Rheinhessische Schweiz, which lies at the border triangle of the wine-growing regions of Rheinhessen, Nahe, and Pfalz, offer exciting potential, as they are of volcanic origin and produce mineral wines with character, wines with recognition value and aging potential. The most famous vineyards of Weingut Steitz are the Neu-Bamberger Heerkretz and the Siefersheimer Goldenes Horn, as well as the Fürfelder Eichelberg.
Weingut Steitz – Christian and Diana Goes Nature
Since Christian took over responsibility for Weingut Steitz in 1994, he has consistently produced good wines. His viticultural style is becoming increasingly natural, which gives Steitz wines even more personality and expressiveness. For several years now, he has been exploring alternatives in vineyard management and winemaking. This benefits the Weingut Steitz wines, as seen with the Riesling Gutswein which was awarded 90 points at the Best of Riesling 2020, probably the largest international Riesling competition in the world. Wines from Weingut Steitz are cool, crisp, and juicy – super drinkable with moderate alcohol content. Pure Cool Climate!
