Plukt Nordic Tea is a young company that sells tea from Latvia all over the world. The two founders, Māra and Līga, are mother and daughter, but it was actually Māra Lieplapa who, at the age of 21, decided to build something of her own, something sustainable, connected to the natural values of her homeland. She was recognized as Young Entrepreneur of the Year because PLŪKT Nordic Tea is available in 19 countries and people in New York, Tokyo, and Berlin drink her hand-picked, wild-growing herbs and flowers as an infusion.

The Story of Plukt – Nordic Tea

Amidst a unique landscape of Nordic meadows and forests lies the home of the Plukt brand. In the municipality of Prauliena, located somewhere in the middle of nowhere two and a half hours drive east of the Latvian capital Riga, is the PLŪKT tea house. Mara and her mother Liga firmly believed that it was possible to become a global brand with a special product from anywhere in the world. And their success proves them right. They proudly call themselves the pioneers of Nordic tea culture. Of course, there are no real tea plantations in the harsh Nordic nature. Therefore, their teas consist of fermented Echinacea, wild raspberry and peppermint leaves, lady's mantle, fir blossoms, marigolds, fireweed, cornflower and primrose, oregano... On the wild meadows in the Madona district, there are more than 1300 different plants. The quality of their herbal blends, the sustainability, and the authenticity of their work are close to the hearts of the two Latvian women, and you can taste it with every sip of Plukt Tea.
