Pflüger – Cuvée Noir – Organic Red Wine from the Palatinate
The Cuvée Noir 2021 from Weingut Pflüger is a red wine cuvée made from Dornfelder, Cabernet Dorsa, and Acolon, grown in Bad Dürkheim in the Palatinate. The Cuvée Noir combines the advantages of certain grape varieties interacting with terroir and aging to create a unique personality. A fruity and spicy composition that smells of ripe, dark plums and blackberries, as well as spicy allspice and roasted aromas. The wonderfully fruity and spicy Cuvée Noir is pleasantly dry and has good length.
Weingut Pflüger Cuvée Noir is harmonious, showing tension and great drinkability. It pairs well with pizza or pasta with tomato sauces, Mediterranean vegetables, or crispy grilled meat.
Weingut Pflüger – Wine Production
The vines for the Cuvée Noir from Weingut Pflüger grow in biodynamically and organically cultivated vineyards on the sandy soils of the Nonnengarten and Sonnenberg in Dürkheim. To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, winemaker Alexander Pflüger has been working according to biodynamic principles since 2008, refraining from artificial fertilizers, as well as herbicides and insecticides, following the course of the seasons and the moon, and working as naturally as possible. Weingut Pflüger is Demeter certified.
The grape harvest often takes place in several picking rounds. In the winery's press house, which is located opposite the saltworks in Bad Dürkheim, the grapes are gently processed further. The mash is pressed with gentle pressure and the must is spontaneously fermented. The wines are fermented separately and then blended. Subsequently, the wine aged for approx. 10 months in large wooden barrels made of Palatinate oak.
