Raumland Sekt – Chardonnay Réserve Brut
The Raumland Sekt Chardonnay Réserve Brut 2013 is a Blanc de Blanc, meaning a dry, white-pressed sparkling wine made from white grapes. In this case, 100% Chardonnay grapes. Raumland Réserve sparkling wines are characterized and shaped by their long yeast aging of at least 90 months – that's 7 years. During this period of yeast autolysis, unmistakable aromas of brioche, nut butter, and toasted almonds develop. The Raumland Sekt Chardonnay Réserve Brut captivates with its particularly fine perlage and a profound body with a long finish.
The current vintage from 2013 aged on lees for 90 months. The Raumland Sekt Chardonnay Réserve Brut is a very complex sparkling wine, full-bodied and powerful with good structure, crisp acidity, and great length. The Chardonnay sparkling wine smells of pear and white peach and delicate citrus scents, showing intense notes of fresh brioche, nuts, and almonds, even a hint of mint. A sparkling wine spot on, crystal clear and puristically dry. Chardonnay in its purest form. "Noble, like a Champagne," judges the Vinum Weinguide 2021.
With its complexity and fine creaminess, the Chardonnay Réserve Brut is a good food companion to Mediterranean fish and crustaceans and light meats.

Sekthaus Raumland – Sparkling wine on par with Champagne
Sekthaus Raumland from Flörsheim-Dalsheim in Rheinhessen produces German sparkling wine of extra class, which can stand up to international comparison.
Volker Raumland produces sparkling wine using the traditional method, exclusively from his own hand-picked grapes, with a focus on Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) and Chardonnay, from organically managed vineyards. The Chardonnay grapes for this Réserve sparkling wine grow on almost 30-year-old vines in the Dalsheimer Bürgel vineyard in Rheinhessen and on calcareous shell limestone soils in the Palatinate.
Gentle whole-bunch pressing, the aging of the base wines partly in stainless steel (77%), partly in barrique (23%), the malolactic fermentation, the second fermentation in the bottle, and long yeast aging are prerequisites for this quality, a complex aromatic spectrum, and the particular fine effervescence of his sparkling wines.
"Good taste is not objective – it is not measurable. It has taken many years of patience and countless attempts to come closer to the big goal in small steps: to achieve the optimum from the variety of our grape varieties, traditional methods, and currently available possibilities. This is our vision, which challenges us anew every day," knows Germany's best sparkling wine maker Volker Raumland.
