Soap Gift Set from Castelbel – Craftsmanship from Portugal

The production of natural soaps has a 300-year-old tradition in Portugal, which began with Castelbel in 1999 when Aquiles Barros, a respected professor of chemistry and former employee of the soap manufacturer Ach Brito, decided to create something new and his own.

Not far from the port city of Porto in northern Portugal lies the small village of Castêlo da Maia, which was not only the company headquarters but also the namesake: Castelbel – beautiful castle.

Initially, Castelbel produced private labels for a New York department store, and later for Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The name Castelbel remained hidden. Since 2006, the Castelbel Ambiente series (Lavender, Rose, Verbena) has been available, and its success story has taken off. The wonderful room fragrances in exquisite glass diffusers, exported from Portugal all over the world, have made a significant contribution to this. A year later, the exclusive Portus Cale series followed, which, with its unique Portuguese product design, has found its admirers not only with us but also in Dubai, South Africa, and Japan, and delights museum visitors in the washrooms of the Louvre in Paris.
