Castelbel Porto – Portus Cale Soap Black Edition

The Portus Cale Soap Black Edition by Castelbel Porto is Castelbel's first proper men's soap. Warm cedar, amber, and musk notes are complemented by a fresh citrus top note. A special eye-catcher is the black color of the Black Edition soap. The 150g soap bar is just the right size for hand washing, it smells until the very end and has a creamy, fragrant lather.

Portus Cale – Tradition and Craftsmanship from Portugal

The production of natural soaps has a 300-year-old tradition in Portugal, and Castelbel's began in 1999 when Aquiles Barros, a respected professor of chemistry and former employee of the soap manufacturer Ach Brito, decided to create something new and his own.

Not far from the port city of Porto in northern Portugal lies the small village of Castêlo da Maia, which was not only the company's headquarters but also its namesake: Castelbel – beautiful castle.

Initially, Castelbel produced private labels for a New York department store, and later for Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The name Castelbel remained hidden. Since 2006, the Castelbel Ambiente series (Lavender, Rose, Verbena) has been available, and its success story began. The wonderful room diffusers in magnificent glass diffusers, exported from Portugal all over the world, have made a great contribution to this.

One year later, the exclusive Portus Cale series followed, which, with its unique Portuguese product design, has found its enthusiasts not only with us but also in Dubai, South Africa, and Japan, and delights museum guests in the restrooms of the Louvre in Paris.
