La Perla di Torino – Chocolate Truffles
La Perla di Torino, this name, or even better, the indulgence of La Perla Tartufo, makes the hearts of chocolate lovers worldwide beat faster. Sergio Arzilli, who grew up in his parents' confectionery shop at Via Catania 9 in Turin, founded La Perla di Torino in 1992. He had developed celiac disease and could no longer work in the bakery. He studied the art of chocolate making and found a way to produce the iconic Italian chocolate truffles, the Tartufi dolce, gluten-free, so that people who, like him, suffer from gluten intolerance do not have to forgo the enjoyment of these small delicacies.
La Perla di Torino – Italian Tartufo Dolce
La Perla di Torino is a family business committed to excellence and quality. The first creations, La Perla Nera and La Perla Bianca, are still favorites among La Perla di Torino customers today. Artisanally crafted from the finest ingredients such as Fairtrade-certified cocoa powder and hazelnuts from Piedmont. Sergio Arzilli decided to work exclusively with the Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnut, the finest tasting hazelnut in the world. He sources the cracked Piedmontese hazelnuts directly from producers in the Langhe and then roasts the hazelnuts himself in Turin. Ultimately, the quality of the roasted hazelnut pieces in the Tartufi cioccolato is crucial to the success of La Perla di Torino products. In addition to the classics Bianco, Nero, and Pistacchio, La Perla di Torino delights with exciting reinterpretations such as Tiramisu, salted peanut, pistachio and raspberry, and Limoncello, which have received international awards and are very popular with our customers.
