Try the naked red red wine from Weingut Gernot Heinrich
The Gernot Heinrich naked red is an organic wine made from red grape varieties, grown partly on the limestone and slate soils on the eastern slopes of the Leitha Mountains, on gravelly soils of the Parndorf Plain, and on humus-rich heathland soils, thus on both sides of Lake Neusiedl in the Austrian Burgenland region.
The naked red from Weingut Heinrich is the winery's calling card and a "more-please-maker." Those who try it want to sample more from Weingut Heinrich and gladly take a second glass of naked red. Its captivating cherry aroma, peppery spice, well-integrated tannins, as well as its juiciness and lean texture make it a "screw-cap" wine that you happily open and enjoy without fuss. This red wine from Burgenland is our choice for pizza, pasta, or grilled dishes. Also enjoyable slightly chilled.
This is what Heike and Gernot Heinrich say about their naked red: "In juicy, bright berry fruitiness, this infectiously agreeable wine almost lasciviously sheds any drinking resistance, and with its unadorned straightforwardness and heartfelt honesty, it can best be described in two words: seriously uncomplicated."
Heinrich – Winemaking
The Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and St. Laurent grapes, harvested by hand from late August to mid-September, come from both sides of Lake Neusiedl, from the Leitha Mountains and the Parndorf Plain. Heiko and Gernot Heinrich cultivate the vineyards organically-biologically with a great deal of manual labor and care. After harvesting, the grapes remain on the skins for two weeks in wooden fermentation vats and in stainless steel tanks, then gently pressed and spontaneously fermented. The naked red matured for over a year in wooden fermentation vats before being bottled in mid-December 2022.
