Kirnig – the Mushroom Paradise in South Tyrol

At the old historical "Hof im Thal" in Aldein, between Montan and Petersberg, is the mushroom paradise of Andreas and Josef! In 2017, they had the somewhat crazy idea of offering delicious mushrooms to South Tyrolean gourmets and restaurateurs all year round. Since then, gourmet mushrooms such as king oyster mushrooms, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms have been grown organically at an altitude of 1,500 meters in specially equipped cells. Incidentally, "Kirnig" means something like hearty or powerful.

But Shiitake mushrooms are not only delicious fresh, but also pickled, as an ideal ingredient for both domestic and exotic cuisine.
