Philipp Kuhn – Blanc de Noir Tradition – VDP Estate Wine
The Philipp Kuhn Blanc de Noir 2023 is a VDP Estate Wine from the Kuhn winery in the Pfalz region. This dry white wine, pressed from red grapes (French Blanc de Noir), is an uncomplicated wine type that is not only suitable for the warmer season. The Blanc de Noir is an ideal food companion, especially with fish and white meat or poultry, and it is a good choice with vegetarian vegetable dishes.
The Philipp Kuhn Blanc de Noir, which is made 100% from Pinot Noir grapes, appears bright and clear with slight pink reflections. Red fruit aromas of blackcurrant and blueberry tantalize the nose. On the palate, it reveals a juicy, spicy, mineral, and elegant Blanc de Noir with structure and a beautiful balance between fruit sweetness and fruit acidity.
Philipp Kuhn – Winemaking
The Pinot Noir grapes for this Philipp Kuhn Blanc de Noir Estate Wine from the Pfalz grow in vineyards around Laumersheim, Dirmstein, and Großkarlbach. They are harvested exclusively by hand at the right time and carefully transported to the winery in small boxes. Since the red color pigments of the Pinot Noir grape are exclusively in the skin and not in the pulp, the grapes are pressed extremely gently, resulting in an almost white juice. Through spontaneous, temperature-controlled, and cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the great fruitiness and mineral notes of the limestone and loess loam soils are preserved.
