Philipp Kuhn – Sauvignon Blanc Tradition – VDP.GUTSWEIN
The Philipp Kuhn Sauvignon Blanc Tradition 2023 is a fresh, aromatic estate wine from Laumersheim in the Palatinate region. The aromatic grape variety Sauvignon Blanc originally comes from the Loire river region in France, but has been cultivated in the Palatinate for 25 years and has been on everyone's lips for a few years due to its expressive aroma. Philipp Kuhn's Sauvignon Blanc Tradition is also very popular. A whole bouquet of green, ripe fruits, such as gooseberry, fresh mint, lemongrass and tropical fruits like passion fruit, waft from the glass. On the palate, it is juicy, spicy with notes of flint.
Philipp Kuhn – Winemaking
The vines for the Sauvignon Blanc Tradition grow on the three Laumersheim soils: limestone, loess and gravel. The grapes from the different sites are harvested by hand at their optimal ripeness. After about two days of maceration, they are gently pressed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The grapes remain on the lees until the following spring, resulting in an elegant, crisp dry Sauvignon with pleasant acidity.
Philipp Kuhn's Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with light appetizers and Asian dishes, as long as they are not too spicy, and all kinds of fish dishes.
