Knipser Clarette – a great rosé wine from the Palatinate
Clarette, a rosé from Knipser, is an excellent rosé wine from the Palatinate. Made from the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. It is produced using the Saignée method, i.e., by drawing off the must during the pressing of red wine grapes.
Its color is light, almost salmon; on the palate and nose, it develops aromas of strawberry and citrus fruits. On the palate, blackcurrant and orange peel follow, with a slightly spicy finish. Beautifully light and not too dry. Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Knipser's bestseller – considered one of Germany's best rosé wines.
