Il Tinello Saba Mosto Cotto – Cooked Grape Must – 250ml

The Il Tinello Saba is a Mosto Cotto, cooked grape must produced by Il Borgo del Balsamico. Saba is wonderfully sweet and, with only 2% acidity, has a delicate grape flavor. It is a wonderful sugar substitute and tastes great with aged cheese, cold cuts, but also as a sweetener on vanilla ice cream or pancakes, in quark or muesli.

Saba is a condiment obtained by cooking fresh Trebbiano grape must for several hours over direct heat and at a low temperature (approx. 60 °C) until a dense, amber-colored, dark and shiny product is formed. It differs from balsamic vinegar in that the must is not fermented after cooking, thus retaining its sugar, and no wine vinegar is added. It is a traditional product of the Emilia region, and according to tradition, it was once used by children as a syrup on snow and by families as a poor man's dish in polenta.

Il Borgo del Balsamico – Cooked Grape Must

Il Borgo del Balsamico is a small, family-run acetaia from the Modena area in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna. Balsamic vinegar is the second great passion of the Crotti family, who were active in the fashion business and combine high quality, excellent taste, and attractive packaging in their vinegar. The Crotti family has been producing balsamic vinegars of the highest quality for over 40 years. In Albinea, not far from Modena, stands the family's old villa, in whose attic Christina Crotti carefully tends to the old vinegar battery, which produces legendary Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale die Reggio Emiglia DOP.

The Aceto Balsamico di Modena from the Italian vinegar manufacturer is available in three aging stages: yellow, orange, and red, with the red being the longest aged. The Tinello Condimenti are very good everyday vinegars and have a little more acidity than the Aceto Balsamico. Red wine and white wine vinegar, as well as a white balsamic vinegar, Saba Mosto Cotto, and a mild apple cider vinegar complete the range of Il Borgo del Balsamico.

All vinegars from Il Borgo del Balsamico are produced without preservatives, without added sugar or caramel coloring, and are gluten-free.
