Spunzillo al naturale – Canned Tomatoes from Italianavera

The Spunzillo al naturale for these canned tomatoes come from the foot of Mount Vesuvius in the province of Campania, not far from Naples. The Pomodorino Spunzillo are characterized by their typical pointed shape. These small, red volcanic cherry tomatoes have a rather thick skin but also particularly aromatic flesh. Immediately after harvesting, they are preserved in lightly salted water, perfectly retaining their aromas and giving your dishes expression, character, and true tomato flavor.

Spunzillo al naturale canned tomatoes are not only suitable as a pasta sauce or as a base for a tomato soup; you can also use them raw to top your pizza or create a classic bruschetta. Spunzillo tomatoes lend an intense, freshly picked tomato flavor.

Spunzillo al naturale – Canned Tomatoes

Diana calls Italianavera's canned tomatoes "veropop." Because why shouldn't tomato cans also look good? Thus, Italianavera's distinctive, colorful cans are a tribute to the best tomato specialties of Campania and have become a trademark of a young company that makes quality and design its strengths. The selection of the tomato before harvesting, the careful production process, and respect for the raw material at every stage of the supply chain are the key points of this production, which is the result of knowledge and passion that the founder Diana inherited from her grandfather and father. Pomodoro vera!

In San Marzano Sul Sarno, not far from Naples, between the lightness of the Amalfi Coast to the west and the energetic volcano Vesuvius, is not only the home of the very best tomatoes but also of Italy's most attractive sauce maker: Diana Attianese. Even as a child, she learned everything there is to know about tomatoes from her mother and aunt, who preserved freshly picked, ripe tomatoes into sauce in the early, cooler morning hours of summer – how the different varieties taste, how they smell when ripe, which tomatoes are best for sauces, and which are peeled and preserved whole. Because even if the old varieties are not suitable for transport due to their sensitivity, they can be wonderfully preserved in glass and can without losing their fresh taste and intense aroma.

Diana knew the canning business well, as her father was active in this industry, but as is often the case with daughters, they want to do things differently, better than their fathers. Only the best tomatoes are preserved into sauce or placed in the pop-art cans of the business graduate. And because the art of preservation is traditionally a women's craft, the name Italianavera suits the lively Italian woman and her ten female employees particularly well.
