The Leccio del Corno Olive Variety – Rare, Fine, Expressive

Leccio del Corno is considered a particularly aromatic variety with a fine balance. In Puglia, it develops a clear, green profile characterized by elegant bitterness, subtle pungency, and lively freshness. FUARA brings these qualities to the fore in a single-varietal oil – a monovarietal that authentically showcases the character of the olive.

Olio Ciccolella is the first oil mill in Puglia to offer a single-varietal olive oil of the special Leccio del Corno variety. FUARA is thus a monocultivar extra virgin organic olive oil from Puglia made from 100% Leccio del Corno. Fresh, green, and harmoniously spicy.

Taste & Aroma

FUARA smells of freshly cut grass, artichoke, and delicate herbaceous spice, accompanied by notes of green almond and a hint of citrus peel. On the palate, it initially appears soft and juicy-fruity before a fine, clear bitterness and a peppery, yet elegant finish set in. The medium-fruity oil always remains harmonious – a fresh, precise organic olive oil with surprising depth.

Giuseppe, owner of Olivo Cioccolella, describes the taste as follows: “A flavor that recalls the strong, salty wind coming from the sea: the fuara.”

How to best enjoy FUARA

This oil loves to shine in cold dishes: over burrata, tomato salad, steamed vegetables, or on fresh bread, it particularly showcases its green aromatics. It also pairs well with fish, white meat, legumes, or Mediterranean pasta dishes. Tip: A few drops over creamy soups or risotto add a fine, fresh kick and elevate the dish to a new level.
