The Blanxart Peru 100% chocolate is an organic Fair Trade dark fine cocoa bar from Peru, made without added sugar. The fair trade white Criollo cocoa beans for this special 100% fine cocoa bar come from Alta Piura in South America.

The newcomer to the Premium Origins Blanxart chocolates is one of the boldest. 100% Peruvian cocoa bar from the green slopes of Alto Piura, made from white Creole cocoa beans. Its organic cocoa content, without added sugar or cocoa butter, guarantees the preservation of all the aromas of this special cru fine chocolate, artisanally made from slowly roasted beans. Connoisseurs and chocolatiers will appreciate the explosion of original flavor, followed by floral notes, licorice, leather, coffee, wood, and lime. An intense experience.

Peru 100% – Cocoa bar without added sugar

In the vast river valleys of the Rio Piura, in the prevailing subtropical climate, the rare white Criollo cocoa thrives particularly well. Thanks to the existing small-scale farming structures, intensive organic cultivation of cocoa trees is successful in Piura. To guarantee the special gourmet quality of white Criollo cocoa, farmers select the cocoa pods during harvest. Gentle fermentation of the beans in small wooden boxes and subsequent sun-drying of the cocoa beans result in high-quality cocoa, perfectly suited for producing specialty chocolates for the most discerning connoisseurs.

A "chocolate" with 100% cocoa content cannot be called chocolate, as chocolate, according to cocoa regulations, must be a product of cocoa and sugar and/or milk. Therefore, we call the Blanxart Peru 100% a cocoa bar. The Chocolate ecológico negro Criollo de Alta Piura Perú 100% is made in Spain.

Blanxart – the excellence of handmade chocolate

Founded in Barcelona in 1954 by Francesc Agras and three friends, the Blanxart chocolate factory is now run as a fourth-generation family business by Xavier Cordomi.

Today, the company, based in the capital of Catalonia, focuses primarily on bean-to-bar chocolate in bar form, mostly with a high cocoa content. Organic and fair trade cocoa beans from Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Nicaragua, Congo, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic are often imported from small farmers or small cooperatives. The beans are then roasted, ground, and conched with great care and dedication. Blanxart processes Forastero, Trinitario, and Criollo cocoa beans.

The fact that Blanxart's dark cru chocolates are not bitter but have a certain mildness is due, among other things, to the addition of extra cocoa butter. This allows the sugar content to be reduced without the chocolate becoming too tart. The vanilla used is expertly dosed so that it is only subtly perceived and does not distort the original cocoa flavor.

Packaging is the final step in the artisanal process. This step is also carried out by hand. The rustic, award-winning wrapping paper reflects craftsmanship, care, and quality.
