Casa Cubista – Ceramic mugs from Portugal

Casa Cubista was founded about ten years ago by David Pimentel and his friend Arrens in Olhão, Algarve. David has Portuguese roots and wanted to bring good craftsmanship from his homeland to the tables of other countries. Because sitting at a set table with family or friends is pure joie de vivre. With its beautiful ceramic mugs, plates, and bowls, Casa Cubista brings the love of beautiful things into your everyday life.

The Casa Cubista ceramic tableware is produced according to David's designs in a family-run manufactory in the Algarve. Even if not every plate is made on the potter's wheel, it is still picked up, cast, sanded by Rui, whose family has mastered pottery for over 200 years, and individually glazed with these great colors, which are food-safe and free of harmful chemicals, by his aunt Regina, among others. To preserve the shine of the glaze, we recommend hand washing the plate. Each mug is unique. Small irregularities in the glaze are normal and intentional. So every mug, every bowl, every plate, every jug always looks a little different. The stripes are also not perfectly geometric but painted by eye. Casa Cubista ceramics are truly handmade.

What we particularly like about the Casa Cubista collection is that the different patterns (bold stripe, dash and ray) colors (black, tangerine, terracotta, teal, blue and green) and sizes can be wonderfully combined with each other. Mix and match – try it out!
