Casa Cubista – ceramic plates from Portugal

Casa Cubista was founded about ten years ago by David Pimentel and his friend Arrens in Olhão on the Algarve. David has Portuguese roots and wanted to bring good craftsmanship from his home country to the tables of other countries. Because sitting at a set table with family or friends is pure joy of life. With its beautiful plates and bowls, Casa Cubista brings the love for beautiful things into your everyday life.

The Casa Cubista ceramic dinnerware is produced according to David's designs in a family-run manufactory on the Algarve. Even if not every plate is made on the potter's wheel, it is still taken in hand, cast, sanded, and individually glazed with these great colors, which are food-safe and free of harmful chemicals, by Rui, whose family has mastered the pottery craft for over 200 years, including by his aunt Regina. To preserve the shine of the glaze, we recommend washing the plate by hand. Each plate is unique. Small irregularities in the glaze are normal and desired. This means that every bowl, every plate, every jug always looks a little different. The strokes are also not perfectly geometric but painted by eye. Casa Cubista ceramics are indeed genuine handwork.

What we particularly like about the Casa Cubista collection is that the different patterns (bold stripe, dash, and ray), colors (black, tangerine, terracotta, teal, blue, and green), and sizes can be wonderfully combined. Mix and match – try it out!
