Casa Cubista – Ceramic plates from Portugal

Casa Cubista was founded about ten years ago by David Pimentel and his friend Arrens in Olhão on the Algarve. David has Portuguese roots and wanted to bring good craftsmanship from his home country to the tables of other countries. Because sitting at a set table with family or friends is pure joy of life. With its beautiful plates and bowls, Casa Cubista brings the love of beautiful things into your everyday life.

The Casa Cubista ceramic tableware is produced according to David's designs in a family-run manufactory on the Algarve. Even if not every plate is made on the potter's wheel, it is still taken in hand by Rui, whose family has mastered pottery for over 200 years, cast, sanded and individually glazed with these great colors, which are incidentally food-safe and without harmful chemicals, by his aunt Regina, among others. To preserve the shine of the glaze, we recommend washing the plate by hand. Each bowl is unique. Small irregularities in the glaze are normal and intentional. So every bowl, every plate, every pitcher always looks a little different. The rays are also not perfectly geometric but painted by eye. Casa Cubista ceramics are genuine handmade.

What we particularly like about the Casa Cubista collection is that the different patterns (bold stripe, dash and ray) colors (black, tangerine, terracotta, teal, blue and green) and sizes can be wonderfully combined. Mix and match – try it out!
