Güde Alpha Chef's Knife 21cm – with Barrel Oak Handle

The Güde Chef's Knife E805/21 from the Alpha Series has a beautiful barrel oak handle. The Güde knife fits comfortably in the hand, thanks in part to the trademark of the Güde Alpha Series, the double bolster or the forged pommel at the end of the handle, which gives Güde Alpha knives their excellent balance when cutting.

This versatile all-purpose knife has a tapered blade and is an essential in any kitchen. Like all Güde knives, this Güde Alpha chef's knife is hand-forged and hand-sharpened. The 21cm long blade, made from chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel, is forged from a single piece, rust-resistant, and ice-hardened. The typical knife rivets are also made of stainless steel, but the palm rivet is made of non-stainless aluminum.

The unique oak handle scales, made from over 80-year-old wine barrels, give this knife series its special charm. We recommend cleaning high-quality knives, such as the Güde chef's knife, by hand immediately after use. Often, a dishcloth soaked in warm water is sufficient. The knife is not suitable for dishwashers.

In collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Harald Rüssel, whose gourmet restaurant and hotel Landhaus St. Urban is located in a side valley of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine region and belongs to the Nik Weis winery, Güde created this series – not only – for wine lovers and cooking enthusiasts. This knife series received the coveted Red Dot Design Award.

Blade hand-forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. Further processing in over 40 manual steps. The handle scales are made from the oak wood of over 80-year-old wine barrels, which has become almost indestructible due to its long maturation. Inclusions are intentional and do not constitute grounds for complaint. The blade is rust-resistant, ice-hardened, and hand-sharpened, and not dishwasher safe.
