Raise a glass with the RosaRot Rosé 2023 from Weingut Karl May
The Karl May RosaRot Rosé 2023 is an organic estate wine from Weingut Karl May in Osthofen. It is a wonderfully light rosé wine, a cuvée made from the Frühburgunder, Spätburgunder, Portugieser and Dornfelder grape varieties. The nose reveals aromas of red berries, strawberries, raspberries and red currants, while the palate is juicy, quaffable, with a medium body, good acid balance and moderate alcohol content.
The Karl May RosaRot is the perfect patio wine or an ideal accompaniment to light dishes such as fish, salad and white meat, a wonderfully lively and fresh rosé. Lush aroma, fruity taste with hints of strawberry and red forest berries. The RosaRot Rosé pairs perfectly with a wide variety of dishes and is simply enjoyable. Its lightness makes it perfect with summer salads or grilled meat or fish, such as salmon or tuna. We recommend enjoying it at 8 – 10°C from a good white wine glass.
Winemaking – Karl May
The vines for this rosé estate wine from Weingut Karl May grow in organically cultivated vineyards in various locations with sandy loess-loam soils. In order to harvest ripe grapes in autumn, Fritz and Peter May begin in January with gentle pruning and early defoliation of the grape zone for optimal sun exposure, as well as yield reduction through green harvesting.
The early, selective hand harvest of the grapes takes place in several picking rounds. The journey to the new winery is not far, where the grapes are gently processed further. After a short maceration period, the mash is gently pressed and the must is spontaneously fermented, remaining on the lees for a long time and aged in stainless steel tanks.
