Stekovics – Garlic Flowers – 270ml

Stekovics Garlic Flowers are the plump, unopened blossoms of Erich Stekovics' wild garden garlic. The charismatic Burgenlander has now pickled these in sugar and salt in "Paradeisereissg", i.e., tomato vinegar. Freshly harvested, the garlic flowers are hand-layered into jars and marinated in aromatic vinegar. The garlic flowers have a milder and more delicate taste than wild garden garlic. They are crispy and firm on the outside and can be eaten like olives or caper berries as a side dish with snacks and cold dishes.

By Lake Neusiedl in Austria, he plants and cultivates countless old, almost forgotten varieties of tomatoes, bell peppers, chilies, garlic, garlic flowers, and cucumbers, turning them into delicious pickled creations in wine vinegar, like these garlic flowers.

What Erich Stekovics plants in Austria has flavor. And he is particularly fond of the old varieties of tomato and chili plants. And no one can fool him easily. Among his personal favorite varieties is the goose beak chili, which he pickles in the finest Beerenauslese vinegar.
