Vinfabriken – Smalands Glögg Alcohol-Free from Sweden
The Vinfabriken Smalands Glögg Alcohol-Free is a non-alcoholic punch, a fruit juice drink with mulled wine flavor based on cranberry and apple juice, originating from the southern Swedish province of Småland. Wild cranberries growing there give the non-alcoholic Glögg punch its aromatic, full character. Cinnamon, cloves, and coriander provide its balanced spice.
The word Glögg is the shortened form of "glödgat vin" and essentially means nothing more than mulled wine. Glögg is sometimes also referred to as Swedish punch or Swedish mulled wine. Here in an alcohol-free version.
Glögg without Alcohol – Alcohol-Free Punch
Traditionally, Glögg is drunk in Sweden during Advent and especially on St. Lucia's Day. It is accompanied by Lussekatter (sweet saffron buns) and gingerbread. In the pre-Christmas period, Glögg, including alcohol-free versions, is offered everywhere in Sweden at any time of day. Enjoy the steaming hot punch in good company, and the cold won't stand a chance, at least for a while.
We recommend serving Vinfabriken Smålandsglögg according to Swedish tradition in a mug with a spoon. Cover the bottom of the mug with chopped almonds and raisins and fill it with the carefully warmed Glögg.
