White wine Germany

Germany is a white wine country — and Riesling is the varietal that defines it worldwide. Our selection includes 228 German white wines from the major growing regions: Rheinhessen, Pfalz, Nahe, and Saar. The stylistic range extends from delicate Saar Riesling with smoky slate notes to powerful Pfalz Pinot Blanc with oak aging.

The selection includes, among others, Wittmann, Gunderloch, Kühling Gillot, and Karl May from Rheinhessen, Knipser, Rings, and Philipp Kuhn from Pfalz, as well as Forstmeister Geltz Zilliken from the Saar. Many of them are VDP members, some are organically certified.

In addition to dry wines, we also carry Kabinett, Spätlese, and Auslese with residual sweetness — a tradition that is cultivated in this breadth almost exclusively in Germany. A dry estate Riesling is often recommended as an introduction: clear, mineral, barely 12% alcohol by volume.
