Alain Milliat's Figue Violette Preserve Extra is a French fig preserve. It is intensely fruity yet not too sweet, creamy in consistency, and boasts an intense aroma of juicy, ripe figs.

Alain Milliat uses only carefully selected fruits, which – and the Frenchman places particular emphasis on this – are harvested at the perfect moment of ripeness. This ensures they develop their full aromatic flavour, which is then captured in the fig preserve.

The figs for this preserve grow south of Lyon in the Solliès region. The violet figs are picked fully ripe, just before they burst. This slightly chunky fig preserve is not only delicious with a French breakfast on a croissant but also wonderfully complements cheeses such as fresh goat cheese, Pecorino, or mild blue cheeses.

Alain Milliat, grandson and son of a farmer, and a fruit farmer himself, took over the family business in Orliénas near Lyon in 1983. For 15 years, he respectfully nurtured the land entrusted to him, cultivating excellent fruits, especially a highly sought-after cherry variety. In 1997, Maison Alain Milliat launched the project to produce high-quality juices for gourmets. Alain sent the first six juices and nectars to 60 restaurants from the Relais & Châteaux guide and eagerly awaited the sommeliers' reactions to his creations. And they were enthusiastic. This brilliant idea allowed him to adapt the textures, sugar-acid balance, and colours of his juices to the restaurants' needs. Driven by his success with the gourmet restaurants, with whom he still collaborates today, this passionate individual constantly develops new juices and nectars from special, hand-picked fruits, offering unique taste experiences.
