Blueberry Extra Jam

Discover the Wild Blueberry Extra Jam by Alain Milliat – 300g

The Blueberry Extra Jam by Alain Milliat is a French jam made from wild blueberries, known in French as Myrtille Sauvage. With a 60% fruit content, it is intensely fruity without being overly sweet, silky in texture, and has an intense aroma of juicy, ripe wild blueberries.

Alain Milliat only uses carefully selected fruit, which he places particular importance on harvesting at the perfect stage of ripeness, as this is when it develops its full aromatic flavor, which is reflected in the blueberry jam. This intensely dark red jam captivates with its creamy texture, sprinkled with whole wild blueberries and the flavors of very ripe fruit and their wonderful tartness.

The wild blueberry is legendary for its cooking qualities and its ability to give the jam a rich texture and a very light sweetness. Myrtille Sauvage tastes wonderful with sheep’s milk cheese and Greek yogurt.

Blueberry Jam by Alain Milliat

Alain Milliat, the grandson and son of a farmer and a fruit grower himself, took over the family business in Orliénas near Lyon in 1983. For 15 years, he tended the land entrusted to him with respect and grew the finest fruit, especially a particularly sought-after variety of cherry. In 1997, Maison Alain Milliat launched a project to produce high-quality juices for gourmets. Alain sent the first six juices and nectars to 60 restaurants listed in the Relais & Châteaux guide and eagerly awaited the sommeliers’ reactions to his creations. The response was enthusiastic. This great idea allows him to adapt the textures, sugar-to-acid ratios, and colors of his juices to the needs of the restaurants. Driven by his success with the gourmet restaurants, with which he still works today, the passionate producer continues to develop more juices and nectars from special, hand-picked fruit that offer unique taste experiences. Someone who makes such good juice also places great importance on high quality in jams and preserves, such as this Blueberry Extra Jam. Today, Alain Milliat buys his fruit throughout France and beyond, always at the optimal stage of ripeness.
