In 1834, the Brit Richard Davies founded a tea company in New York and created a blend of black teas which he named English Breakfast. With this unique blend, the resourceful entrepreneur wanted to convince New Yorkers that this was a very popular tea blend in Great Britain. And it worked: English Breakfast became a huge success! However, it was not until 1892, some 60 years later, that English Breakfast Tea became known on British soil.
