Lakrids A - The Original was Lakrids by Bülow's first chocolate-covered licorice. Founder Johan Bülow's idea of coating the successful Lakrids by Bülow with chocolate was daring. But success proved him right: Lakrids by Johan Bülow The Original marked the beginning of a great Lakrids success story, expanding from the small Danish island of Bornholm to the whole world.

With Lakrids A - The Original, the sweet Lakrids by Bülow core is coated with a delicate milk chocolate and then dusted with licorice powder. This creates a taste journey from the outside in. First licorice powder, then sweet milk chocolate, and finally sweet-spicy Lakrids again.

Lakrids A – a first-class combination

• Hidden in the center: a soft core of Lakrids 1, the sweet licorice. This is made from the best licorice root, which Johan sources from the Middle East, Afghanistan, or Calabria in Italy. Lakrids only uses the middle part, which contains the most licorice, while the rest, which does not meet Lakrids by Bülow's quality standards, is sold on. Licorice lives up to its name: it is up to 50 times sweeter than sugar.
• The milk chocolate has a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth consistency and is loved by Lakrids enthusiasts worldwide.

Note: Since 2020, Lakrids by Bülow has been using aluminum-free foils for sealing their tins. Unfortunately, it occasionally happens that the foils detach when opening, i.e., when twisting off the lid. This circumstance does not constitute a reason for complaint, as the quality of the licorice is not affected.
