The Lakrids by Bülow F Dark & Sea Salt is a Danish liquorice variety featuring sweet liquorice coated in dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt. Founder Johan Bülow's idea to coat the successful Lakrids by Bülow with chocolate was audacious, but its success proved him right: Lakrids by Johan Bülow with chocolate marked the beginning of a grand Lakrids success story, expanding from the small Danish island of Bornholm to the entire world.

With Lakrids by Bülow F, there is finally a variety for lovers of aromatic dark chocolate. Over the years, Lakrids customers have repeatedly asked why Johan Bülow doesn't create more variations with dark chocolate and liquorice. This time, he came up with something truly special that he had never tried before: soft liquorice with dark chocolate and delicate sea salt flakes.

Lakrids by Bülow F – dark chocolate and Maldon salt

• Hidden in the middle: a soft core of Lakrids 1, the sweet liquorice. This is made from the finest liquorice root, which Johan sources from the Middle East, Afghanistan, or Calabria in Italy. Lakrids only uses the middle part, which contains the most liquorice, while the rest, which does not meet Lakrids by Bülow's quality standards, is sold on. Liquorice lives up to its name: it is up to 50 times sweeter than sugar.
• Surrounding it: dark chocolate. The taste of dark chocolate is more nuanced, intense, and slightly bitter due to the amount of cocoa in the recipe.
• Visible on the outside: salt. But not all salt is created equal. For his Dark & Sea Salt Lakrids, Johan Bülow uses the popular Maldon salt, favored by chefs, which has been extracted for over 100 years in a small English town using a traditional method.
