The Thüros Minicater table grill is a compact charcoal grill made of V2A stainless steel with a 30 by 30 centimeter surface for use directly at the table. Not a raclette, not an electrical appliance, not an indoor grill.
The Thüros Minicater table grill measures 30 by 30 centimeters and is the smallest table model in the range. There's a way of eating that's somewhere between fondue and grilling: everyone prepares their own portion, it takes a long time, and that's precisely the point. The Minicater is built for such evenings.
Small, but made of the same material
This model is also made entirely of non-magnetic V2A stainless steel with material number 4301: body, grate supports, and hooks. All edges also run inwards here; there are no sharp points on the housing.
The material above the coals gradually develops a golden-blue shimmer. This is a harmless oxide layer that even provides additional protection. Anyone expecting a table-top appliance that remains permanently shiny should be aware of this beforehand.
Grilling like fondue or raclette
The Minicater stands in the middle of the table, everyone puts on what they want, and the evening stretches on for hours.
This works best with small pieces of food: strips of meat, shrimp, vegetable slices, halloumi. The Minicater is not suitable for a whole steak or a round of sausages for six – there simply isn't enough surface area.
A side note: Place a fireproof mat under the grill. Although the bottom remains significantly cooler than the charcoal tray, garden tables made of wood or plastic will show discoloration after hours of heat.
The most common mistake when table grilling is too much charcoal. A heat that won't let anyone sit at the table for long quickly develops on 30 by 30 centimeters.
Half a charcoal tray is enough for two to three hours. Ignite the charcoal in a chimney starter beforehand - the smoke when lighting is particularly annoying at the table, and firelighters leave an odor that can be tasted in the food.
Also for campers and motorhomes
The second area of use arises from its dimensions. 30 by 30 centimeters fit in any rear garage and any trunk.
For on the go, the Minicater is the compromise between space requirements and genuine charcoal flavor. If you need more surface area, opt for the T1 Camping grill or the T2 table grill.
Grill grate, charcoal tray, and supports can be removed individually. Everything goes into the dishwasher, nothing is screwed or glued.
