Alain Milliat's cranberry juice is pleasantly tart and elegant, with a distinctive, fresh acidity. Cranberries originally come from the bogs of North America. However, they are now also native to northern Europe. Cranberries, also known as mossberries, are similar to lingonberries, which also belong to the heather family. Their small fruits are intensely red and tart-bitter.

This brightly colored red juice with a flowing texture seduces with its aromatic freshness and liveliness. The lightly sweetened cranberry juice works well as a base for various cocktails, such as a Cosmopolitan, as it can be mixed with gin and vodka, but it is also a delight when topped with sparkling water. Cranberry – Juice or Nectar?

Nectar, what a promising word, which in botany refers to the liquid that comes from the flower calyxes, and in Greek mythology, the drink of the gods that bestows eternal youth and immortality. The European fruit juice regulation is less euphoric. It differentiates between juice and nectar and allows nectar to contain up to 20% sugar in the final product, with a fruit content, which can consist of fruit juice or pulp, of at least 25% depending on the fruit type, thus positioning juice as higher quality than nectar.

But what does Alain Milliat care about the fruit juice regulation? After all, more good ingredients than the minimum requirements prescribe are not forbidden. Thus, his nectars consist of 40-50% fruit content.

Alain Milliat – the Passionist

Alain Milliat, grandson and son of a farmer, and a fruit grower himself, took over the family business in Orliénas near Lyon in 1983. For 15 years, he respectfully nurtured the land entrusted to him, cultivating the finest fruit, especially a particularly sought-after cherry variety. In 1997, Maison Alain Milliat launched the project of producing high-quality juices for gourmets.
