Organic Red Wine Vinegar – Martin-Pouret from France

The Martin-Pouret Organic Red Wine Vinegar is a Vinaigre d'Orléans Vin Rouge from France, aged for 12 months, with subtle notes of red fruits and a spicy-tart flavour.

Thanks to its slow fermentation of 3 weeks in oak barrels and its one-year maturation in the cool vinegar cellars in Orléans, this red wine vinegar, based on a selection of the best French red wines, preserves the heritage of centuries-old expertise and offers a wonderful, unique taste with aromas of red fruits, a hint of vanilla from the wood barrel aging, and 6% acidity.

This aged red wine vinegar provides an intensely fruity-tart taste experience. It is ideal for robust green salads, for pickling red cabbage, for marinating game or red meat, it adds a fruity acidity to roast sauces, and refines game poultry as well as pasta and potato salads.

Maison Martin-Pouret – Vinaigre d'Orléans Vin Rouge

Once, the city of Orléans was the stronghold of vinegar production in France; even the king acknowledged the special quality of Orléans vinegar in a decree in 1590. However, out of 300 vinegar manufacturers, only one remains: Maison Martin Pouret. Since 1797, they have been producing high-quality vinegar in the traditional way, which is still allowed to mature in wooden barrels. David Matheron and Paul-Olivier Claudepierre, who took over the vinegar house in 2019, proudly look back on a unique heritage, the tradition of the great vinegar masters, which they are now allowed to continue. In addition to vinegar, such as this aged red wine vinegar, the company also produces pickled preserves, such as gherkins, and French mustard.
