Neber Creamed Honey with Cornelian Cherries is a honey specialty with a fresh, sweet-sour fruit flavor that gives this honey its special touch. The creamy, whipped blossom honey and the cornelian cherries, also colloquially known as "Dirndl" berries, complement each other wonderfully. Hildegard von Bingen already appreciated the special power of cornelian cherries, which today can be explained by the vitamin C content of this fruit. Also ideal for garnishing desserts, sorbets, ice cream creations, or for refining palatschinken (pancakes).

Creamed Honey with Cornelian Cherries

The cornelian cherry (Cornus mas) is a dogwood shrub that blooms in spring even before the forsythia. Botanically, it is not related to the cherry, but in the course of summer, it forms a false fruit, which is actually a nut fruit and is encased by a receptacle that turns dark red and fleshy as the fruit ripens.
