Questions about Chestnut honey?

We are happy to help you with Neber Honig.

Organic Sweet Chestnut Honey – Intense, Regional Nectar Honey

This high-quality organic sweet chestnut honey from Bio-Imkerei Neber originates from the Styrian Wine Region and Southern Burgenland, and is one of Austria's most aromatic and popular honey varieties. Its taste is strong and characterized by a deep spiciness; in the aftertaste, it shows a characteristic bitterness that is particularly valued by honey connoisseurs. As a rare nectar honey, it offers an intense aroma for gourmets. Choose the aromatic, natural honey from chestnut blossoms in a 250g or 500g jar!

Sweet Chestnut Honey – Honey from a Special Blossom

The sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) blooms relatively late, only in June after leaf development, and only reaches full flowering capacity at the age of 20–30 years. With long, catkin-like inflorescences, it attracts bees and relies on cross-pollination. The flowering period is short (June–July), so the precious nectar is collected only during this narrow window before the tree fruit, the maroni, ripens.

Honey from Austria – 100% Natural

The apiary's goal is to produce single-varietal, ripe nectar honeys from Austrian regions. Only carefully matured honey is shelf-stable and remains stable with proper storage. Each honey differs in taste, color, and flow properties – a true reflection of the landscape where the bees collect nectar.

The organic apiary refines honeys with regional ingredients and offers a variety of sorts such as acacia, sunflower, dandelion, forest, or linden blossom honey, as well as refined specialties with vanilla, gold leaf, chopped pumpkin seeds, wild berries, or cornelian cherries. Attention is paid to the best regional ingredients; honey production is organic certified (Organic Control Body AT-BIO-301 – Austrian Agriculture).
