Pine – the scent of the Alps
The extraordinary powers of the majestic PINE, which can live up to 1,000 years, have been appreciated and used for centuries. Our ancestors already used the unique wood in various ways. Heated debates were held in cozy pine parlors, children were laid in cradles made of pine wood, and valuable clothing was stored in pine chests. The unmistakable scent of our soaps, for which we use pure Tyrolean pine oil, reflects the primal power of the Queen of the Alps, as Pinus cembra is rightly called.
Tiroler Reine – Liquid Soap from Innsbruck
Tiroler Reine liquid soaps are real soaps: unlike conventional liquid soaps, they are produced using traditional manufacturing methods in kettles on a soap basis – without synthetic surfactants, but with natural glycerin content. The selected basic raw materials are high-quality, nourishing olive and coconut oils, beeswax, which contributes to the pleasant consistency, as well as Tyrolean beef tallow, which was already used in earlier times for soap production. This traditional and local ingredient has a refatting effect and creates a fine, creamy lather.
Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-making family to create distinctive soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the Sellrain washerwomen and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, to primroses as heralds of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderflower, which conveys protection and security.
NOTE – Since spring 2020, Walde has been using bottles with recycled plastic content. Walde soaps thus aim to improve sustainability. However, these bottles are slightly thinner, which leads to indentations during filling. If you briefly open the flip-top cap, the indented area will equalize again.
No preservatives or emulsifiers are added to Tiroler Reine liquid soaps. This can occasionally lead to changes in viscosity or color separation. Our tip provides quick relief: place the liquid soaps in a warm place, e.g., in the sun by the window, for a few hours, then shake well – and the original state will be restored.
