Cantina Tramin Gewürztraminer - Rose Scent from South Tyrol

The Gewürztraminer 2023 from Cantina Tramin is a highly aromatic white wine from South Tyrol with well-integrated alcohol. It presents itself in a straw to golden yellow color. On the nose, this fruity Gewürztraminer unfolds its complex bouquet of tropical fruits to spicy pepper notes, always accompanied by the unmistakable characteristic rose scent. On the palate, it develops a subtle sweetness, supported by a juicy acidity. The Cantina Tramin Gewürztraminer is long-lasting, with nuances of ripe fruits and spicy notes.

This South Tyrolean wine is a wonderful aperitif, excellently accompanying shellfish, grilled chicken or duck, as well as Asian or spicy dishes and aged mountain cheese or apple strudel.

Cantina Tramin – Winemaking

A mild, low-rainfall winter with plenty of sunshine was followed in the 2023 vintage by a dry March with comparatively early budbreak. Even though spring was rather cool and rainy, hot sunny days and precipitation alternated in June. A hot summer and a rainy beginning of September demanded a lot of work from the winemakers. Fortunately, the weather gods blessed South Tyrol with a golden autumn with ideal conditions for the grape harvest. Thanks to targeted work in the vineyard, as well as the experience and care of the cooperative members of the Tramin winery, the numerous challenges of the 2023 vintage were mastered brilliantly. The white wines of the 2023 vintage are cool and delicate and impress with juicy freshness and crispness. The red wines are characterized by elegance and finesse.

The Gewürztraminer vines for this Cantina Tramin wine grow on calcareous, loamy to stony-loamy soils on slopes between 300 and 450 m above sea level. The grapes were harvested by hand in several passes at the time of optimal physiological ripeness and brought to the winery building in small containers. There, they were destemmed and further processed with gentle pressing. Fermentation took place at a controlled temperature (21°C) in stainless steel tanks, where aging also took place, without malolactic fermentation.
