Pinot Noir 2023 – Spätburgunder by Oliver Zeter

The Oliver Zeter Pinot Noir 2023 is an unfiltered red wine from the Pfalz region. It offers aromas of berries, chocolate, bacon, clove, and violet. On the palate, Oliver Zeter's Pinot Noir is elegant and multifaceted, juicy and delicately spicy. A good companion to pan-fried and grilled meats.

Zeter Spätburgunder – Winemaking

The Spätburgunder vines for this Pinot Noir are located in the Southern Pfalz around the villages of Siebeldingen, Godramstein, and Nussdorf, some up to 30 years old. As diverse as the soils with limestone and loess, sandstone and clay, are the different varieties and clones of Pinot Noir. The small, loosely-bunched grapes are pre-sorted for the first time directly in the vineyard. At the winery, 5-15% of the juice is then drawn off to make the must more powerful and the resulting red wine denser and richer. After fermentation in traditional red wine fermenters, a basket press is used for gentle pressing. Pumping is avoided; gravity is allowed to do its work. After about 12 months in used French oak barriques, the Oliver Zeter Pinot Noir 2023 is bottled without filtration.
