Questions about La Contessa – 2023?

We are happy to help you with Weingut Manincor.

Manincor La Contessa 2023 – A White Wine of Delicate Elegance

The Manincor La Contessa 2023 is an exquisite white wine from South Tyrol, an elegant cuvée of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, with Pinot Blanc making up the largest proportion at 55%. The vines thrive in the Terlano and Caldaro vineyards of South Tyrol, known for their ideal climatic conditions that give the grapes excellent ripeness.

The Manincor La Contessa 2023 is characterized by a brilliant yellow color with greenish reflections. Its bouquet reveals aromas of apple, apricot, and a hint of sage. On the palate, it presents itself as dense and elegant with a pleasant freshness and a lingering elegance on the finish. An outstanding wine for special occasions.

A White Wine Cuvée for Festive Occasions and Discerning Wine Connoisseurs

Harmony and Challenge: The 2023 vintage was challenging, marked by fluctuating weather conditions ranging from a wet spring to a hot and dry summer. Despite these difficulties, the grapes reached perfect ripeness, which is reflected in the balanced combination of physiological ripeness, sugar, and acidity. The wine is characterized by ripe fruit aromas and a moderate alcohol content, making it an ideal companion for relaxed moments.

Excellent Craftsmanship: The grapes were carefully destemmed and macerated for six hours to extract the aromas and structure from the skins. Fermentation occurred spontaneously in wooden barrels with indigenous yeasts, followed by nine months of aging on the fine lees. This careful processing contributes to the complexity and aromatic depth of the wine. Cellarable until 2030.

Sustainability in Focus: La Contessa is not only a delight for the palate but is also produced biodynamically and vegan according to the strict Respekt-BIODYN guidelines. This emphasizes the character of the terroir and promotes sustainability and biodiversity. Thus, it reflects the philosophy of the Manincor winery, which is committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly wine production.

Ideal for festive occasions: Thanks to its structure and moderate alcohol content, La Contessa is an excellent, elegant companion to appetizers, fish dishes, and vegetarian meals. It should be served slightly chilled, but not cold, to allow its aromas to fully unfold.

Why this South Tyrolean wine promises enjoyment for all the senses

  • Harmonious blend: With 55% Pinot Blanc, 28% Chardonnay, and 17% Sauvignon Blanc, the result is a balanced and multifaceted taste.

  • Perfect ripening conditions: The grapes benefit from the warm hillside location of Lieben Aich in Terlano, which contributes ripe fruit notes, and the cooler location of Campan in Caldaro, which gives the wine its characteristic, cool character.

  • Versatile enjoyment: Perfect with light appetizers, fish dishes, and white meats, this wine offers a great accompaniment to various dishes at 8-10 degrees.

  • Biodynamic Quality: Fully biodynamically certified, this wine embodies the winery's commitment to sustainable cultivation and production methods, with the natural expression of the terroir taking center stage.
  • Sustainability as a Principle: This white wine from the "Hand" wine line embodies Manincor's biodynamic philosophy, reflected in its vegan certification and the Respekt-BIODYN seal, a testament to harmony with nature.
