Kohl Gourmet – Mountain Apple Juice Gravensteiner

The naturally cloudy Kohl Gourmet Mountain Apple Juice Gravensteiner is sparkling and fresh, with aromas of flowers and spices, and notes of citrus fruits like grapefruit on the palate. It is robust and has a well-balanced fruit-acid play. The slightly straw-yellow Kohl Mountain Apple Juice is somewhat less sweet than the Pinova.

The single-varietal Kohl Gourmet Mountain Apple Juice Gravensteiner pairs well with raw fish, such as sushi or sashimi, with seafood and crustaceans, or with thickened cream soups. It prefers light dishes, savory, salty, sour, but preferably not spicy or sweet. We recommend pouring Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Gravensteiner into a stemmed glass, so that the aromas can develop best, just like with wine. This is best achieved at a drinking temperature of a cool 8 - 12°C.

Gravensteiner – a Dane in South Tyrol

The Gravensteiner is not a cultivated apple variety, but a chance seedling. Since 1969, it has been known in Denmark and later in Northern Germany, such as in the Altes Land, and is extremely popular as a summer apple, which is ready for harvest from late August to mid-September. Its yellow fruits are quite large, medium-firm, and very juicy. The Gravensteiner has poor storage qualities and is therefore not suitable for industrial apple cultivation, but its taste is uniquely good. The Gravensteiner smells of childhood, just how an apple should smell. It has been included in Slow Food's Ark of Taste. The Gravensteiner is a true connoisseur's apple.
