It pairs well with strong, salty, spicy, or sweet flavors. We recommend pouring Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Jonagold into a stemmed glass so that, like wine, the aromas can best develop. This works best at a cool serving temperature of 8 - 12°C.

Jonagold – The Gourmet Apple

The Jonagold is a cross between the popular, high-yielding Golden Delicious and the Jonathan. The sunny yellow apples have loose, yellowish flesh and a long stem, developing bright orange or strawberry-red cheeks on the sun-exposed side as they ripen. The Jonagold variety, one of the six most cultivated apple varieties worldwide, prefers warm locations with fertile, deep soils, such as those found in Ritten.

Often, apple juices use apples that cannot be sold as table fruit, and usually, all kinds of varieties are pressed together into juice. Not so with Kohl Mountain Apple Juices. In Ritten, South Tyrol, the apples ripen slowly; intense sunshine during the day and cool nights alternate at an altitude of almost 900m. Each variety is harvested individually by hand by Thomas Kohl in several picking rounds and then gently processed into the best mountain apple juice the very next morning. On its way into the bottle, the juice is only briefly pasteurized and quickly cooled down again. This preserves the naturally cloudy, unfiltered mountain apple juice without adulterating the important ingredients and the special taste of the individual varieties. Kohl Mountain Apple Juices contain no preservatives, additives, or added sugar. They are certified with the Vegan label of the European Vegetarian Union.
